No, you don’t need a referral to see an OT, or SP however often teachers, GP’s and other health care practitioners can recommend that your child can be assisted by an OT or SP.

We accept the chronic and complex needs care plans from your GP which can give you a partial rebate for up to 5 OT or SP sessions. We have Hicaps in the clinic, which means you can place a claim to your private health fund directly while you are here. The amount of your rebate will depend on your fund and your type of cover.

At Standout, OT helps kids and youth from 2.5 years old to 20 years old.

Our SP sees children from 2 to 15 years old.

Firstly, we’ll chat to you over the phone and make sure that OT and or SP is the right fit for you and your child. We’ll then lock in an initial assessment. Following the assessment, we discuss a plan with fun ways to build confidence and a strategy to tackle tricky areas and tasks in all environments (school, home and the community). It’s super duper important to us that Occupational Therapy and Speech therapy is the best fit for you and your child, and the best way to do that is with an initial chat followed by an assessment. Quite often, we work alongside other services and supports (such as a psychologist ) to make sure we’re collectively covering all bases. After all, teamwork makes the dream work!

We love meeting and helping kids from all over Western Australia and Australia, whether it’s virtually via Telehealth or in person. School visits are available for surrounding schools, however these sessions are limited.

If you are plan managed or self managed, then yes you can chose to use Standout as your OT and /or SP provider.
